Clark Lake - A Water Lover's Dream
Clark Lake is a water-lovers dream. The 864 acre lake is filled with Bass, Walley and Perch for the fisherman, and warm water with a sandy bottom for the swimmer. The deepest of Door County's inland lakes with a depth of approximately 22 feet, you will find the water clear and the bottom mostly sand and rock.
Swimming, boating, canoeing, jet skis, and in the winter--ice fishing! Clark Lake has an activity for everyone.
Clark Lake is separated from Lake Michigan by sand dunes. The lake was once a Bay of Lake Michigan, but over time sand bars became sand dunes, and the dunes allowed grasses and other vegetation to thrive and become the separation.
Homes along Clark Lake range from seasonal cabins to spectacular state-of-the-art homes, and each combine with the other to create the much-desired Clark Lake community.
Diane Ackerman is quoted as saying, "Nothing is more memorable than a smell. One scent can be unexpected, momentary and fleeting, yet conjure up the memory of a childhood summer beside a lake in the mountains". In this case it would be a childhood summer at Clark Lake in Door County!
